The scanner app is what your door staff use to check attendees in. It reads the QR code on an attendee’s ticket, confirms the ticket is valid for that event, and records the check-in. Every ticket scanned counts toward the Tickets Scanned figure on your dashboard, so you can watch arrivals in real time from anywhere.

Getting access

1

The organizer adds the scanner

An admin invites them with the Scanner Plus role and assigns them to specific events. See Add a scanner.
2

The scanner receives an email invitation

TixFix emails the address the admin entered, with instructions for getting into the scanner app.
3

They sign in

They use the email address the invitation was sent to.
4

They select the event

Only events the admin assigned to them are available. If an event is missing, the admin needs to add it to their Select Events list.
Setup instructions for getting the scanner app onto a specific device are being finalized for these docs. If your door team needs to be set up before then, email contact@tixfix.ai and we’ll get them running.

Scanning a ticket

Point the device camera at the QR code on the attendee’s ticket. The ticket may be on a phone screen or printed; both work. The result is one of three things:

Questions at the door

If the organizer marked a registration question as shown when scanning, the attendee’s answer appears when their ticket is scanned — meal choice, drink package, session track. See Questions at check-in.

Advice for the door team

  • Get set up before doors open. Sign in, select the event, and test-scan one ticket while there’s no queue.
  • Brief staff on “already scanned”. It’s usually a duplicate screenshot or a re-entry, not a fraud attempt. Have a rule ready.
  • Keep devices charged. Scanning runs the camera continuously and drains batteries fast.
  • Have a fallback. Know who to call if a device fails mid-queue.
Still stuck? Email contact@tixfix.ai with your event name and a screenshot.
