Creating an event in TixFix is a two-step wizard. The first step covers what the event is — title, description, dates, venue. The second covers what people buy — ticket categories, the registration form, and publishing. This page is the map. Each section links to a detailed guide for that part of the form.

Before you start

If you plan to charge for tickets, connect Stripe first. Paid ticket categories cannot sell without it. See Connect Stripe.
Have ready:
  • A cover image at 1200 × 800 px, under 5 MB, in JPG, PNG, or GIF format.
  • The venue address.
  • Your ticket tiers, quantities, and prices.

Step 1: Event details

1

Open Events and click Create Event

Go to Events in the sidebar and click Create Event in the top right.
2

Optionally draft the copy with Tixy

Tixy is the AI assistant at the top of the create page. Describe your event in plain language in the Tell us about your event box and click Generate Event, and it fills in the title and description for you.The page shows an example prompt to copy the style — something like a relaxed BBQ at a named park on a given date, with a note about the tone you want.
3

Write the title and description

Event Title is what attendees scan first; 80 characters or fewer is recommended. The Event Description supports rich text and appears at the top of your public event page.
4

Set the dates and time zone

Pick a Start Date and End Date, each with a time, then choose the Time Zone.
5

Upload the cover image

Click Upload Image in the Cover Image panel.
6

Categorize the event

Choose a category under Event Type, set the age restriction, and add Tags to help people find the event.
7

Enter the venue

Fill in the Venue block. Address Line 1, City, State, and Zip are required. Additional Information is a good place for parking or entrance notes.
8

Click Create and Continue

Your event is saved and you move to step 2.
Every field on this step is covered in Event details and venue.

Step 2: Tickets and registration

The second screen is headed Almost There! — this is where you create your ticket types and promo code.
1

Choose free or paid

Select Paid Event or Free Event. You can still create multiple categories either way.
2

Add your ticket categories

Click Add New Ticket Category for each tier. See Ticket types and pricing.
3

Add a promo code

Set up any discount codes for this event. See Promo codes.
4

Customize the registration form

Name and email are collected by default, phone is optional, and you can add your own questions. See Registration form and custom questions.
5

Decide about donations

Turn on Enable Donations to let attendees give extra at checkout. See Collect donations.
6

Set visibility and publish

Turn on Make this event public to list the event on the TixFix app, then click Publish — or Save as Draft to come back later. See Publish and visibility.

After publishing
